Founded in 2004 and operating continuously from Prishtina, Trankos serves institutional, international and corporate clients across the Western Balkans for over two decades.
The firm provides translation, interpreting, multilingual event support, and conference equipment deployment, with established teams covering Albanian, English, Serbian, Macedonian, Bosnian, Turkish, and other regional languages. As the authorised RWS Trados reseller for Kosovo and Albania, Trankos has supplied, installed, and trained users at Kosovo's ministries, courts, the OSCE Mission, and the US Embassy in Kosovo.
Its founder served as Head of Translation and Training within the GTZ/GIZ Support to the Office of the Prime Minister project, founded the Professional Association of Translators 'Poligloti' (ATIP/SHPIP), Kosovo, and has led language and technology projects for the Council of Europe, GIZ, OSCE, the EU Office in Kosovo, the World Bank, and TAIEX.

Office of the Prime Minister, GTZ/GIZ
As Head of the Translation and Training Component within the GTZ/GIZ Support to the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo project (EuropeAid/113827/D/SV/KOS, 2003-2004), Afrim Hyseni managed a EUR 700,000 fund to establish a professional translation unit in the Office of the Prime Minister, recruitment, training, procedures, and the first feasibility study on CAT tool deployment in Kosovo's public sector.
Legal translators & the 'Poligloti' association
As EU Translation Expert on the Support to Legal Translators, Interpreters and Legal Linguists in Kosovo project (EuropeAid/128983/D/SER/XK, 2010-2012), he led training curriculum development, the design of Kosovo's translator certification system, and founded the Professional Association of Translators 'Poligloti' (ATIP/SHPIP), serving as its founding President.
Academic cooperation, AAB College
Trankos maintains a formal cooperation agreement (MoU) with the Faculty of Foreign Languages at AAB College, a partner institution for professional internships, study visits, and translation-technology training, and facilitated the deployment of Trados Studio there to align curricula with European labour market requirements.
